Welcome to Temiskaming Printing Co. Ltd., northeastern Ontario's largest most complete printers and publishers.
Life began for TPC at the turn of the last century when a printer from Bracebridge, Ont. named E.F. Stephenson came to Temiskaming to try his hand in the lucrative business of farming!
Shortly thereafter, utilizing a small press he had brought with him, Mr. Stephenson used his spare time to print a few handbills and letterheads for some local businessmen.
At some point Mr. Stephenson learned that these same businessmen were being harassed by the local printer of the 'Temiscamingue Gazette' because they were taking their printing to him.
Infuriated with their tactics Mr. Stephenson decided to sell his farm, bought more printing equipment and with the aid of his son Allie, began printing a rival newspaper called the 'Temiskaming Speaker'. The first edition rolled off the presses in February of 1906 and marked the beginning of Temiskaming Printing Co. Ltd.
With the eventual downfall of the Gazette and continued success of The Speaker, TPC grew to the business it is today. We now have a staff of over 50 employees, Macintosh computer and software technology and an abundance of print, press and binding equipment. Even today we continue to follow in Mr. Stephenson's footsteps by providing customers in northeastern Ontario and northwestern Quebec with quality printing at an affordable price.
